About The Role

Head of Resilience Delivery – Devolved Nations
Location:  Scotland, Northern Ireland or Wales (role will be based in one of the three devolved nations). Regular travel across devolved nations and the wider UK will be required
Salary: £69,632 - £71,500 (plus ILW of £3,343 if applicable)
Hours: 35 per week (plus on-call responsibilities)
 Contract: Permanent

As Head of Resilience Delivery – Devolved Nations, you’ll play a vital role in how the British Red Cross supports people through all stages of emergencies and builds long-term resilience. You’ll help shape and lead teams across the devolved nations in delivering humanitarian services, and work closely with other organisations across the resilience sector to improve outcomes for people in crisis.

 This is a chance to be part of a bold transformation. You’ll be part of a department that’s evolving to deliver across the full resilience cycle – from preparation to recovery – and we need a leader who can guide teams through change, build strong partnerships, and keep the needs of people at the heart of everything we do. 

 A week in the life of the Head of Resilience Delivery – Devolved Nations could involve:

  • Meeting with emergency services, local authorities, devolved government and voluntary sector partners to strengthen joint offers.  
  • Supporting your teams to deliver impactful services that help communities prepare for and recover from crises.  
  • Working closely with the three devolved nation resilience teams, and the English regional teams to ensure the BRC is helping people and communities in the right way, at the right time, and in the right place.
  • Collaborating with the strategy team to help build effective resilience approaches across all three devolved nations
  • Championing the voices of those we support, ensuring our work reflects real-life challenges and opportunities
